The Practice of Presence Winter 2006

The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence...
Thich Nhat Hanh
What would the world be like if we were truly
authentic, open, and conscious in every moment?
Open body, heart and mind...
Give yourself and others the gift of Presence...
Who should attend? People who are committed to:
- exploring and expanding our abilities to be present with ourselves and others--families, friends, lovers, strangers, organizations, communities, world...
- engaging Spirited conversations that challenge and inspire who and how we are...
- awakening and embracing our most integral and integrating Presence as both an essential offering to and expression of the world...
About The Practice of Presence...
The Practice of Presence is a seven-session workshop designed to help you explore and expand your innate ability to be present with yourself and others. Because new habits typically take at least eight to twelve weeks to develop, the workshop is held over the course of three months, creating a strong support structure for developing and deepening life-affirming--and often, life-changing--patterns of being. Through a combination of informational presentations, experiential learning exercises, and personal home practices, you will:
- Explore seven Facets of Presence™—core conditions, experiences, and choices for being truly present
- Assess and express your own intentions, interests and abilities for Presence
- Practice ABLE Being™—a simple and significant practice for being more present with oneself and others
- Design and develop your own custom Practice of Presence that is most aligned with your life purpose
- Become part of a Community of Presence™—other individuals committed to practicing Presence as a way of opening more grace and space in the world
Location: Course sessions are generally* conducted at Isle Haven, a charming Victorian farmhouse located in the historic Eagledale neighborhood of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Located in the heart of the Puget Sound, Bainbridge Island is just a half-hour ferry ride from Seattle and also accessible via the Agate Pass bridge from the Kitsap Peninsula.
Schedule: The Winter course sessions are conducted twice monthly on Tuesdays, 7-9pm January through March with a special Open Space session held on a Saturday from 1-6pm.
"In a short amount of time, I experienced so much! The ideas and tools I have learned are things I will try to keep in my life forever. This experience was a great foundation for becoming a better and more core-intentioned me."
Patty Keplinger, Participant, Winter 2005

"Presence--fully authentic,
open, conscious being--has
the power to transform our
lives and our world. Since
presence can be developed through
intentional practice, we all hold the
potential to dramatically alter not
only our experience of ourselves
and the world, but also our
capacities to truly be ourselves and
serve the world.
.
The world needs people who have
cultivated a genuine capacity to
serve something greater than
their own self-interests and many
of us are seeking ways to do this.
The Practice of Presence is one
way of growing presence for
ourselves and our world."
